Semiconductor - Let There Be Light

Extended until July 7

In their complex video works and installations, British artist duo Semiconductor, founded in 1997, explore the material nature of our world and the underlying forces and processes behind its physical appearance. They investigate in close collaboration with scientists, especially from the fields of astronomy and geology, how science influences our experiences and observations of world. Their work explores natural phenomena and refers to an idea of a world in constant transformation. Their films move within imaginative spaces situated between animation and documentation. With their works, Semiconductor demonstrate how art and science can influence and inspire each other.

Semiconductor are Ruth Jarman (born 1973 in Fareham) and Joe Gerhardt (born 1972 in Oxford). They live and work in Brighton. The exhibition Let There Be Light will be their first solo show in Switzerland.

Opening reception on May 2 2013, 7 p.m.
